I for one, am looking for a Glamper.  Would anyone be interested in a thread dedicated to posting travel trailers for sale?  Posts could include a trailer you are selling or one you have seen for sale.  It's nice to have extra eyes out for when one is on the hunt...

i totally agree that extra eyes are invaluable when it comes to the hunt but sorry chickiepoo i'm going to nix the idea as that will take up too much of our allotted cyber space besides the mess it can make when duplicates are invariably posted.  i have no problem posting that you are looking and might perhaps add a section for that but would prefer people just pm each other when they find what someone else might be looking for.

I agree with VintageGirl. The ads would take up our valuable cyber space. We could have like she suggested a thread of people looking and what type of trailer they are looking for. When someone finds one they could PM that person.

Heychickiepoo...
Are you a member of Girl Camp Canada? They post lots of trailers that are for sale in Canada.

Yup, I'm on GCC, thanks for looking out Beth!  Thank you all for your input

FYI:  This particular thread will be deleted as there is not enough cyber space (very understandable).

actually i think i'll leave this thread in case anyone else thinks it's a good idea for a 'for sale' section, then they can read it and understand why we don't have one.  (this particular thread isn't using up space but a for sale section would eat it up!)

I hope this is OK to post, if not feel free to delete it Robin but there is the Vintage Campers for Sale group for those of you on Facebook. It's a group I started awhile back and campers/trailers for sale are listed daily on there (sometimes hourly LOL!). It's only campers/trailers for sale. No chit chat allowed so that folks don't have to wade through chat post to see the trailers for sale. There are over 1,600 members and tons of trailer listings from all over the country. Members post them from finding ads on Craigslist, ebay, Tin Can Tourist or if they personally are selling the trailer. https://www.facebook.com/groups/VintageCampersForSale/ Just ask to join and I'll approve you. Remember it's a NO CHAT board, so if you post there only post a camper/trailer for sale. Read the rules at the very top of the page before posting

Yes, be sure you read the rules. Campers must be 1979 or older.  If you post something newer, it will be removed (understandable), and having a private conversation with one of the mods about the choice of "1979" as the cut-off date will get you banned from the group.

Hello! I have recently decided I must have a glamper camper. I want to use it as a home office, and for some traveling. I am trying to learn about them, and decided exactly what I want. I won't have the money until later this year, so have the time to learn. (I just hope the one I can't live without does not come before the money...) I live in West Tennessee, and don't know of any glampers I could connect with close to me. Does anyone know of any? I would love to see some in person, to know what to look for when I have the money. I don't want a fixer upper/restoration. I don't have the know how for that. I can refurbish/decorate though! [smile] Anyway, I am glad I found this forum, and hope it can help me find my glamper. I really like those Shasta's, with the wings! They rock!!

Hello Sandra, you've posted a tall order and one that many many people wish for and I wish you luck however unless you have deep pockets (~8k and up) what you're wishing for isn't likely to come around.  Vintage trailers always need work and unless you see proof in pictures that a proper rebuild has been done you have to be mighty careful not to buy a 'restored' camper that has only been cleaned and decorated! There is a lot to learn and the best thing you can do for yourself is to do tons of research so you know what to look for when buying a trailer.  The best way to do that is to read other peoples stories of what they have gone through to repair their trailers...it's a real eye opener.

We're very glad you discovered the forum and hope you stick around but let me suggest another forum that you may find more useful for your research, it's called Vintage Trailer Talk.  Here's the link...

http://vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/

The owner Vikx is tremendously knowledgeable about rebuilding trailers from top to bottom as are many others that have learned to rebuild/repair their own trailers via forums.  (With some help from hubby, I did a floor up rebuild on a Shasta compact 3 years ago so I know what I'm talking about. [tongue] [wink]

Keep us posted on your discoveries, we'd love to hear from you about your search.

SANDRA / deacox,: WELCOME from East Tenn,  we are north of Chattanooga. . There is a re-seller of
vintage / classic campers in the western part of our state.. I have not been there , but his ad appears every so often on Craig List..  Always has about five or six... I think he also buys out of western ALA & ARK,
 fixes them .
